AMEC Class B AIS Gained SRRC Certificate Product / Technical News2009-02-09

Beijing Feb 4,2009- State Radio Regulatory Commission of People’s Republic of China, or SRRC, has certified AMEC’s CAMINO-101 Class B AIS transponder following CAMINO-201 certification in Nov 3,2008. CAMINO-201 and CAMINO-101 are the first Class B devices gaining SRRC’s approvals to sell in China, and this is also a great milestone and encouragement for AMEC for its effort in designing and manufacturing high quality maritime electronics. After a series of painstaking tests and verifications, SRRC has granted that CAMINO-101 is fully compliant to Chinese marine laws and regulations. With its rapid growth in economy, Chinese government has found it is crucial to ensure the safety of traffic at sea, and many of its local harbors and fishing authorities are now mandating their fishing boats to install AIS devices.

AMEC CAMINO-101 has most of the functions as CAMINO-201, except display. NEMA 0183 linkage to other maritime equipments enables the integrated system to provide mariners with complete navigations and safety information on a single display. In addition to RS-232, the innovative Bluetooth wireless network saves users from cabling troubles and provides better mobility. The AMEC professional viewer program in standard package offers boaters with full surrounding awareness and better operation flexibility.
