AMEC AIS now on the Navionics Boating Marine & Lakes App Product / Technical News2019-07-12

Navionics announced on 4th July that AMEC Camino-108W and Widelink B600W transponders are tested to be compatible with their latest version app “Boating Marine & Lakes” for Android and iOS devices.

With the AIS feature integrated, the Navionics charting app enables boaters to see Aids-to-Navigation (ATON) and Class A & B targets on the map. The enhanced situational awareness is essential for safety on the water, especially during low visibility or in heavy traffic areas.

Navionics said they are happy to have done plenty of tests using the transponder AMEC provided, and it works brilliantly. Y.Y. Chiou, Sales and Marketing VP of Alltek Marine says, “We are delighted to partner with Navionics, the No.1 chart provider to ensure their brand new AIS APP runs flawlessly with our high-performance Wi-Fi AIS transponders.”

The Boating Marine & Lakes app is free to download and offers a 1-year subscription for chart layers download for offline use, daily chart updates and more advanced features.
