The AMEC TB-520 explosion-proof model is a Man Overboard Beacon using AIS technology. It greatly enhances the chance of MOB retrieval by alerting nearby vessels equipped with AIS.

For applications where explosion-proof is preferred or needed, the TB-520 can additionally support explosion-proof functions. This explosion-proof feature is an optional supply by request and special ordering. Dedicated materials and extra production process are required in order to support this feature.
All the features and functions in the TB-520 standard model can also be supported by the TB-520 explosion-proof model. In addition to that, the TB-520 explosion-proof model will additionally support following aspects at much more strict and rugged level(s):
